Yes, our country was founded on freedom and Judeo-Christian Values. IN GOD WE TRUST. Ok we should be senstive to people who don’t believe in GOD or have other views. Also, tell me where it the constitution does it say that there is healthcare for everyone, limiting our carbon foot print, what kind of car we drive, etc etc. It doesn’t! We have the right to pursue happiness not have the gov’t due it.

One last thing from my useless brain since I cannot argue intelligently. Where in the constitution does it allow Judges to write law from the bench. It doesn’t, it is against our constitution. So when you want to give your rights to Terroists or for a woman to choose, remember this wasn’t a right supposed to be imposed by the Judicial Branch. Make all your inteligent arguements but at the end of the day, you are wrong about writting laws from the BENCH. It is against our constitution.

Everyone wants the Gov’t to handle everything. I laugh when I here these idiots talk about national healthcare. If you want to see what National Healthcare look like go to the DMV in your local state. That is what the hospitals will be like. Of course, maybe you will see a bunch of nurses just standing around like the road crews. What might be even better is if you come in with a heart attack and they cannot operate on you because the Union said they have to have a 15 minute break every 2 hours.

Another good example is cigarette taxes. The gov’t was supposed to raise the price of taxes on cigs to pay for programs to get people of cigs. They also sued the Big Tobacco for Billions to pay for more programs to help non smokers. I don’t know about you but I haven’t seen the patch showing up for free in everyone’s house.

For the record - I blame the Republican administration for our current health care system (which doesn’t work), our current loss of civil liberties (which our fathers fought in wars to protect), our ballooning federal deficit (which my children and children’s children will have to pay for), for the budget deficit (which we worked so hard to balance during the last democratic administration, but the current administration destroyed in just a year), a war that patently makes us less safe (we spend billions upon billions on this war, while I could walk from Canada to the US without being stopped), for crippling environmental protection, for making being smart a bad thing, for our poor standing in the world, and for a bunch of other stuff.

For the record - I think the democratic party is filled with a bunch of clowns as well. But at least when they were in power I had a six figure salary job, a balanced budget, and the respect of our allies and the world. Those were nice.

So TImmy and King, I don’t want the government to handle everything, but there are some things that they need to handle. Schools, Healthcare, Security, Infrastructure, Environmental protection, etc. These can only be done by a government for the good of the people, because if you go into it with ideal that the “market” will handle it, then you get where we are today.

Oh, BTW - Cigarette settlements were not to go into sending the patch to everyone. They were for, and did go for, quiting programs, anti smoking advertising, and healthcare reimbursements.

Oh, BTW - If you want to see national healthcare go to Canada, where medication is cheap, and healthcare is available to all.I don’t think the RMV is a good comparison.

He compounded it with bad management, and even worse decision making. I mean seriously, he was eating a birthday cake with McCain while people were drowning in the city. His FEMA director was on TV saying everything was fine, while on the split screen you could see desperate people waving at helicopters begging for help. I won’t defend Obama’s proposed budget, or McCain’s, for that matter. Both are expected to rack up the deficit even further. There’s no excuse for it.

Actually my wife is Catholic. I’m an Eagle Scout. Yes, two organizations that screwed around with Children. The Scouts fix their program and does a very extensive background check. However, as a Christian I feel my views are being pushed out of the public square, schools, etc. We are being prosecuted by groups who want us to get rid of GOD out of the pledge, no public display of the Christmas, cannot say merry christmas, Letting Atheists into the Boy Scouts which is a faith based organization. I can go on and on. Then they teach about Mohammad in public schools. but if you talked about Christ in public schools you would be considered a holy roller pushing religion. Separation of chruch and state would be screamed.

That leads me to one more point. The separation of chruch and state didn’t mean elmination of Chruch from the Gov’t. Instead it ment, there wouldn’t be a gov’t organized religion. Oh, and people forget people came here for their relgious freedom. Not to have a religous free country.
