A bunch of thoughts from the weekend.
1) New Favorite Show: QI is this awesome British program. I found a whole boatload of episodes on YouTube. Below is a sample of one I liked.
2) Limelight is an interesting karaoke experience. It was my friend Lauren’s birthday last week, and we went out to celebrate it on Saturday evening. Now, Limelight is a bar dedicated to the karaoke experience with lights, stages, etc. Also, the drinks are pricey. But, and here is the important thing, mixed drinks have a very generous pour. This means that after one or two, you have had the equivalent of around five drinks at a normal bar. This means you are more apt to get on stage and belt on out, which I did. My glorious rendition of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” was well received, as was my birthday toast post performance. I am sure a video will be forthcoming at some point. Maybe I should learn “Uneasy Rider” for my next performance?
3) I had something else to add, but the work of writing the first two items has exhausted my brain. Perhaps it will come to me later.
[UPDATE] Now I remember, cool video on visualizing statistical information from the TED conference. The video is by Hans Rosling. The topic is debunking third world myths, and it is fascinating. In fact, King of Clubs should pay close attention.
