This story deals with a woman whose health insurance provider denied her emergency room medical claim after she suffered a late night miscarriage. The basis of the denial, they say she had an elective abortion. Its this kind of stuff that makes Americans hate the health insurance industry. Digg this and let em’ feel the burn.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Calls MISCARRIAGE an ABORTION and Denies Coverage

I’m the writer of this letter. I believe we have to get the word out about the horrible condition of our medical system. I’m tired of living in a country that screams family values, yet will set idly by and do nothing when the system fails. These issues are what’s hurting families is the most! Good Job!

Well Tonya, I wish you the best of luck fighting this. I too have run into my share of denials from the health insurance industry. Lets hope some media attention comes to bear on this problem.

Mittop, get out of your house and way from your computer. You are getting way too caught up in this sideline half-truth internet cheerleading. As for the lady who had all of the issues with BCBS, I truly feel awful she had a miscarriage. That being said, her incidents although not isolated are not the norm for BCBS. They are one of it not the best health care provider we have in this country.
The health care system is flawed, insurance companies are thieves and every elected official over the past 50 years is to blame. Reading the comments on the consumerist were hillarious particularly the guy who I think was serious when he said to call Michael Moore. Glad to see some fat ass, loud mouth malcontent is now the “voice of the people”, as long as you pay $10 to see his movies that are all greatly slanted to the “woe is me populus.”
