Government can go to far

It seems that our new Red Sox Pitcher mister Daisuke Matsuzaka is in trouble with the government for a commercial he did in ANOTHER COUNTRY. It is against the law for sports celebrities to be shown endorsing an alcoholic beverage by showing the drinking and the sport in connection with each other (i.e. You can’t drink the beer then go out and throw the ball).

All professional athletes in the US adhere to this policy, but it is not illegal in other countries. But that isn’t enough for Arthur Resnick, director of public and media affairs for the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau in Washington, D.C.

This article in the Boston Herald provides some details.
